I got Woo-ed.

I posted a blog in September about Dr. Woo's tattoos.  I called in January 2015 to make an appointment with him at Shamrock Social Club.  They told me to call back on February 3, 2015.  I was thinking ok whatever.  I didn't realize when I called in February it would be a fierce phone competition to get in.  I think I called for about 4 hours straight before someone answered.  The guy answered, said you appointment is June 10th at 11:50 PM and I said ok.  Even though I felt selfish Rick said lets do it and we booked a trip to LA.  I took pictures of some of my favorite tattoos he has done and he drew this little gem up.  It took about an hour and wasn't too painful. I have another rib tattoo and it hurt a lot worse.  Maybe the fact he is using a gun with a single needle.  It was a late night but worth it!

Apparently my phone calls were competing with people standing in line too.  I got Lucky!

Ahhh Mexico.....

We took a last minute trip to Cancun to relax.  It was a perfect time.  We stayed at Sandos Luxury Cancun which was a twenty minute drive from the airport.  If you need a quick easy trip from Houston this is the way to go.  I can't wait to go back.

Sport Sandals?

Leather sports sandals have been trending for awhile now.  Last year I bought a Birkenstock looking Zara sandal and didn't receive too many compliments...but hey I liked them.  I most recently purchased a pair of Vince Orson sporty sandals.  If you don't feel like spending too much money on the trend try the Isabel Marant inspired Zara sandals below.

Selfie Stick

I went to Italy in June and saw a lot of people with selfie sticks.  They are embarrassing but awesome at the same time.  I feel they make sense for traveling because you don't have to bother people to take your photos or have photos of you by yourself in front of whatever landmark to say you have been there.  Also you don't have to worry about anyone running off with your phone.  Anyhooooo its been a pretty hilarious tool.  I thought it would help me to take outfit pictures as well.   Here are my selfie stick creations....

Miu Miu v. Givenchy

I decided I needed a new black bag.  I wanted one thatI could travel with easily and not worry about it getting damaged.  I had been checking out the Givenchy Nightingale for some time.  I went to Neiman's tried it on and put it on hold.  The bag was a little scratched up and they never offered to pull a new bag from the back.

I went back the next day to look at it again and the sales girl was dismissive and rude.  I decided to leave and walk to the Miu Miu store.  I realized that I always end up in the Miu Miu store but it is never my first thought.  I loved the knowledge the sales guy had about the leather ect.  He made the experience special as it should be when you are spending your hard earned cash.  I will do another post where I am holding it but here it is.....

Gia liked my choice...or box..whatever.

Fashion Inspiration: Fall 2014

I am sad to say the summer is ending despite Houston still experiencing summer weather.  I love the summer but I also like moving into fall just to have a wardrobe change.  By January I will be sick of all the fall/winter clothes and ready for spring.  Here are a few essentials to get you excited for the upcoming season!

Alexander Wang

Since fall is approaching despite the temperature I just watched the NYFW Fall RTW 2014 (from February) Alexander Wang runway show.  I have been slowly watching his progress over the past couple of years and find his design so intriguing-maybe he is designing just for me.  I love his aesthetic.  I would describe it as modern, clean, urban and funky beautiful.  If you own a piece of his collection you have something special.  These backless boots with white soles are fabulous.  I love the utility handbag as well as the fanny pack.  I really want the leather drawstring pants.  I loved everything in this show.  I will get the boots...that is going to happen.  I still can't get over them.  When will they be available?

SJP

I found out Sarah Jessica Parker was coming to Houston via her instagram the day before this event happened at Nordstrom.  I went to just take a picture of her but I saw people standing in line so I asked what the line was for.  Ten minutes later I had a new pair of shoes which I didn't need but are awesome and got in line- because if you bought something you got to meet her.  When I met her she introduced herself and told me I was so beautiful and I told her she was beautiful.  She commented on the shoes I bought, the Alyssa.  She told me she named the shoes after her assistant. I said I had a hard time picking between black and purple (probably because I frantically tried these on and bought them) which she said black was always a great choice.  I complimented her flash tattoos.  We talked about her eating at Ninfas and I told her she should try Molinas.  I mentioned that I saw she ate at NInfa's on instagram but that I wasn't a stalker which always means you are.  Oops, I swear I am not.  Anyways long story short, I was nervous at first but she was so chill and easy to talk with.  I was on a high for about 3- 4 days.  It was an amazing experience.  I have watched SATC repeatedly- I still watch it.  No matter how I felt/feel that show is an escape from reality.  I still love watching what Carrie wears.  Don't get me started on Girls Just Want to Have Fun.  I think I broke that movie watching it so many times.  LOVED EVERY MINUTE OF THIS!

Here is a picture of SJP wearing the same booties....

Sunday Night Dinner

Rick and I went to Eddie V's for Houston Restaurant Week on Sunday.  The food wasn't great the drinks were expensive- we need to start bringing flasks everywhere- but we had a great time.  I bought this dress recently on Hautelook.  It is basically and edgy nightgown so perfect for the summer heat.  When they told us we were going to have to sit in the lounge with loud music I thought it would be club music and pretty fun.  Nope.  There was a very loud jazz trio.  If you like jazz you might have enjoyed it.  We basically laughed and couldn't hear half of our conversation most of the night.  We still had fun though!  I am still working on the picture taking situation.  I am not a model and Rick is not a photographer...hence the missing top of my head.

Biscuit Paint Wall Montrose

My awesome friend (lifestyle and commercial photographer) Sara Murphy got up early to take these photos of me in May.  I thought this wall would be an awesome back drop. Sara and I have been friends for close to twenty years.  I am no model (although my Granny paid a grip to put me through Page Parks acting classes) but Sara is a great director.  We had a good time. I have an addiction....

I am addicted to white shoes.  I have had this obsession for many years including a time when it wasn't cool to wear white shoes.  I specifically love white pointy toe heels and wear them year round.  Nothing looks better with your all black and gray winter wardrobe than a bright pop of white on your feet.  I think they are modern and fun.  It used to be harder to find white heels so my immediate reaction is to buy them when I see them (hence going into the Aldo store).   I am normally not interested in white sandals (there is something outdated about them) but I am considering purchasing Dr. Scholls originals in white pretty soon...they have a small heel right?   My favorite pair are the Zara bottom left and Alexander Wang with the ankle strap.

Top row: Guess, Zara, Kathryn Amberleigh, Oh Deere Bottom row: Zara, DSW (?), Alexander Wang, Aldo (they say these are light blue but closer to white to me).
